Dear Parents, Students, and Supporters of Gardendale High School:

It is an honor and privilege to return to Gardendale High School to serve as principal.  I am looking forward to working with each of you to help prepare all students to become college and career ready.  Jefferson County is providing our students with opportunities to accelerate through early college, dual enrollment, and virtual learning.

As we look to the future through Accelerate JEFCOED, our counselors and advisors will begin to work with each student to develop a four year plan based on their career interest.  We hope to provide students opportunities as juniors and seniors to participate in college courses, internships, job shadowing, and career related work interest.

Our teachers are and will continue to participate in professional learning to prepare our students to become work force ready through classroom experiences which involve developing critical thinking skills, collaboration, problem solvingproject based learning activities, and technology.  All of these skills are what our business and industry partners need for their future employees.

Our mission is to create an environment where learning is a priority for all, as we move forward, not only will learning be a priority for all but all students will graduate college and career ready.

We encourage you to join us on this journey!

I look forward to working with parents, our community, and our business and industry partners

 Mary Beth Blankenship
